This qualification is designed for learners aged 16 and above.

There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for these qualifications. However, learners may find it helpful if they’ve already achieved a Level 2 qualification.

Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to:

• Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Management
• Level 5 NVQ Diploma in Management and Leadership
• Level 5 Diploma in Management Skills and Knowledge
• Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Business Administration
• NCFE Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Customer Service
• Team Leader/Supervisor apprenticeship standard.

This qualification could be taken to support the Team Leader/Supervisor apprenticeship standard. On
completion of the apprenticeship, apprentices can register as Associate Members with the Chartered
Management Institute and/or the Institute of Leadership & Management.

Who is this qualification for?

This qualification is aimed at learners working as first-line managers, assistant managers, senior supervisors and those working in a range of other management positions. It forms the knowledge and competency elements of the Advanced Management Apprenticeship and supports the delivery of the Team Leader/Supervisor apprenticeship standard. It can also be taken on a standalone basis.

How long will it take?

To complete this qualification learners should expect to undertake 550 hours of learning, of which 284 is guided learning hours.

These include manage personal and professional development, manage team performance, principles of leadership and management, principles of people management, principles of business, manage individuals’ development in the workplace, implement and maintain business continuity plans and processes and manage the impact of work activities on the environment.
