The Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy is a substantial vocational qualification that will confirm your competence as a beauty therapist.
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification but in order to optimise their chances of success, a learner will ideally hold a Level 2 qualification or equivalent in beauty therapy.
When you have successfully completed this qualification will have the opportunity to progress to the following qualifications:
• Level 4 Diploma in Advanced Beauty Therapy
• Level 4 Diploma in Permanent Hair Removal
and Skin Rejuvenation
• Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense
Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments
• Level 4 Award in Skin Blemish Removal
This qualification may lead directly into employment as a senior beauty therapist in a beauty salon or spa or to self-employment as a mobile beauty therapist.
Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy
The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Beauty Therapy is a technical level qualification aimed at 16-18 learners who are in a full-time Level 3 education programme and wish to pursue a career as an employed and/or self-employed beauty therapist.
Throughout this qualification, learners will develop their knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology and health and safety.
They will also develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to consult with clients, successfully promote and retail products, provide a range of beauty treatments including Swedish massage, skin and body analysis and electrical science in order to make informed decisions for face and body electrical treatments.
In parallel, learners will develop their communication and customer service skills, their awareness of environmental sustainability and their commercial skills, all of which are valued highly by employers. Problem solving and research skills will also be developed.

You will also develop a range of technical skills in preparing the skin, and applying massage therapy products and equipment to the skin, using a variety of different techniques. You will also develop interpersonal skills that will assist you to communicate effectively with clients.

Develop a range of technical skills enabling you to provide a variety of beauty therapy treatments using different techniques. Along with interpersonal skills that will assist you to communicate effectively with clients.
