In this qualification learners will develop their knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology and health and safety spanning level 2 and level 3 treatments. They will also develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to consult with clients whilst providing a range of beauty services including facial treatments, skin analysis, manicure, pedicure, waxing, lash/brow treatments and make-up applications.
Learners who wish to undertake this qualification must also achieve the VTCT (ITEC) Level 2 Award in Infection Prevention (COVID-19) for Beauty Therapy and Nail Services qualification or a regulated equivalent.
In order to optimise their chances of success, a learner will ideally hold a Level 2 qualification or equivalent in beauty therapy.
Whilst the primary purpose of this qualification is to prepare learners for employment, learners may choose to develop their knowledge and skills further by completing a specialist qualification at Level 4 in one or more of the following areas:
Learners who achieve this qualification are eligible to become members of the British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (BABTAC) or Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT). As a beauty therapist, learners could progress directly into employment in a variety of contexts, which include:

The Level 3 Diploma in Combined Beauty Therapy Skills combines Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications in the beauty therapy industry. The qualification is aimed at those learners who wish to gain knowledge and skills relating to beauty therapy at Level 3 without prior knowledge.
Aimed to develop learners’ knowledge and skills and confirm their competence as beauty therapists. Learners will expand their technical skills for employment as a beauty therapist whilst learning to plan, prepare, and deliver Level 3 beauty treatments safely and correctly, following health and safety regulations and legislation.
The Combined Beauty Therapy course will give you all the skills and knowledge to work competently in the beauty industry, whether employed by a salon or self-employed in a salon-based or mobile business.
You will cover two health and safety units to build your knowledge of a salon manager role, risk assessments and general health and safety legislation.

Further to your practical training, you will learn all the required theories for the above units to work confidently when treating your future clients. Following this qualification, progression routes are Level 3 Nail Technology or Level 3 Make-Up.
